The Americas is a very diverse region that includes North America, Central Americal, South America, and the Caribbean. Although the majority languages are English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French, there are hundreds of other language groups scattered throughout the area.
Bible translation has been going on here for a long time—Cameron Townsend began the modern Bible translation movement in Central America. As a result, most of the larger language groups have the Scriptures, and they are now actively involved in helping to translate the Bible into the remaining languages. They are also tackling the challenge of literacy, audio recording, and Scripture use.
