Culture Preparation

Wycliffe Associates volunteers serving around the world quickly learn that culture affects everything we do. Cross-cultural interaction with people can be a wonderful, enlightening experience. But it can also lead to culture shock, misunderstanding, and ineffectiveness. In order to positively affect the pace of Bible translation projects and to be an encouragement to our national partners, we need to have at least a basic understanding of the local culture. The resources in this section are designed to increase your understanding of culture.
